Fluidized bed freezing is an IQF technology in which a strong upward stream of cold air lifts small pieces of product, such as whole berries, so that each piece is individually surrounded by cold air and freezes separately. The result is free-flowing fruit with minimal clumping, which is exactly what retail and food-manufacturing buyers require.
