Preferential origin allows goods to enter the EU at reduced or zero duty under a trade arrangement, such as the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. To claim preference the importer must hold valid proof of origin and the goods must meet the product-specific origin rules and direct transport conditions of the agreement.
