Country of origin labelling indicates where a food comes from and is mandatory where omitting it could mislead consumers, as well as for specific products such as fresh fruit and vegetables, honey, olive oil and certain meats. For honey, the country or countries where the honey was harvested must be indicated, or a blend indication as provided by the Honey Directive.
