Food contact materials are any materials intended to come into contact with food, including packaging, liners, containers and processing equipment surfaces. In the EU they must comply with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 and specific measures such as Regulation (EU) 10/2011 for plastics, and suppliers should provide declarations of compliance.
