A pallet is a flat platform, usually wooden or plastic, on which cartons or bags are stacked and secured for handling by forklift. The EUR/EPAL pallet (800×1200 mm) is the European standard. Pallets used for food must be clean, intact and, for export, comply with ISPM 15 heat-treatment rules where applicable.
