Call-Off Order

Letter

A call-off order is an individual delivery instruction released under a framework contract, specifying quantity, date and destination for one consignment, enabling planned production and cold store scheduling.

In trade practice

Buyers issue call-off orders against an agreed annual or seasonal volume, triggering the supplier’s production or pick slot. In frozen food supply, the release schedule must align with IQF line capacity and cold store availability. Common mistakes include issuing call-offs with insufficient lead time, causing partial shipments or substitution of product batches. The framework contract should define the minimum notice period and maximum single-call volume.

In a specification

A specification or framework contract typically states the minimum notice period for each call-off, the permitted quantity tolerance per release and the delivery window within which the consignment must arrive.
