GLOBALG.A.P. IFA (Integrated Farm Assurance) is a farm-level certification standard covering food safety, traceability, environmental management and worker health, safety and welfare. For fruit and vegetable supply chains it is the most widely referenced farm assurance standard in Europe, and version 6 Smart applies to certifications from 1 January 2024.
Control points are structured in modules — All Farm Base, Crops Base and Fruit & Vegetables — and classified by compliance level (Major Musts, Minor Musts and Recommendations). For frozen berry and vegetable processors, certified raw material simplifies supplier approval under BRCGS or IFS and answers retailer questions about primary production.
