Full Truck Load

Letter

Full truck load is a shipping arrangement in which a single consignment occupies an entire truck, typically a reefer trailer, moving directly from origin to destination without intermediate consolidation or handling.

In trade practice

For frozen fruit and vegetable exports from Ukraine to the EU, full truck load shipments reduce temperature risk because the load is not broken down at a groupage depot. Buyers and logistics teams confirm trailer capacity, pallet count and gross weight against the truck’s legal limits before booking. A common error is overloading a reefer trailer, which restricts airflow and compromises temperature uniformity. The CMR waybill and temperature download cover the entire single-consignment journey.

In a specification

A purchase order or logistics clause may state that delivery must be made on a full truck load basis, specifying minimum pallet count, maximum gross weight and the required trailer type and temperature setting.
